Guest Policies

CHECK IN: From 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm | CHECK OUT: before 11:00 am.

If arriving outside of check-in times, please call to make arrangements.

RESERVATIONS: Major credit card (Master Card or Visa, please) or advanced deposit is required to confirm reservation. Cancellations require a seven (7) day notice for Friday and Saturday nights, two (2) day notice for Sunday through Thursday nights, fourteen (14) day notice for holidays and special events, including the Blessing of the Fleet. If less notice is given, a refund will be made if we are able to rent your room.

RATES: Rooms are $155 to $170 per night, single or double occupancy. Room rates include breakfast. Rates are subject to change and do not include 12% state and local tax.

There is a $20 charge for each additional person in room.

TV: All rooms have TV, and there is an additional TV in the library for guest use.

INTERNET: Open Gates offers free wireless Internet access as well as DSL.

SMOKING: We are a non-smoking facility. Smokers are welcome to use the outdoor areas.

CHILDREN: Open Gates welcomes well behaved children.

PET POLICY: NO pets allowed.

WEDDINGS: Open Gates is available for small, intimate weddings and cake receptions. Our wedding package includes all 5 rooms for two nights (lodging and breakfasts for ten people), use of our grounds and common areas, and assistance with set-up and clean up.

SPECIAL EVENTS: Holidays and special events may require a minimum stay.

OTHER AMENITIES: Rooms are equipped with alarm clocks, extra pillows and blankets. Each bathroom has a hair dryer, custom made soaps, and shampoo/conditioner. Guests are welcome to use our kitchen refrigerator and freezer for storage and ice.

We have fresh cookies coming out of the oven at 3 p.m. everyday and coffee and hot water for tea are always ready for you in the dining room.

Insect repellent, and sunscreen, are readily available to make your stay in our coastal climate more enjoyable!
